REAL Talk with Sagesse
March 9, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Free
In times of stress and community crisis, it is common for instances of domestic violence to rise. Now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic violence is at an epidemic level in Alberta.
1 in 3 Albertans will experience domestic violence in their lifetime, which means you may already know, or are close to someone impacted. 80% of people who experience domestic violence will tell someone they trust in their social networks first. Studies show that just one positive conversation is likely to lead someone to seek further help. REAL Talk is a guide to help us understand and talk openly about domestic violence in Alberta.
Join us for this virtual event to hear from a Sagesse REAL Talk program coordinator to explore how to begin to have REAL conversations about domestic violence. Learn how to provide support and stop the cycle of violence with just a few words. Following this session you can also book an online workshop for a group of peers in your network to learn how to get REAL.
